| Customer Reviews: excellent stand April 24, 2010 PH The L-Stand S is the "stand alone" version. Meaning that it doesn't include the highly versatile clamps that allow you to secure it to a table or to a flight case. However, the clamps can be purchased separately from various sources on the web for a low price.
Assembling the stand is a cinch. Adjusting the height is a very easy task. However you will not be able to adjust "on the fly" during a performance.
The height is adjustable up to about 12 inches from the front lip. The platform part is fairly sturdy at the max height but probably not stable enough to do lots of typing. But if you are using this for music then you are most likely not going to be typing on the stand. It'll definitely stand up to the occasional stabs at a computer key board some DJs/music producers may do. Gear as narrow as 9 inches should fit fine on the stand. It can be widened to fit larger gear such as laptops. The depth is about 10 inches. The front edge of the top rails have a lip that keeps your gear from sliding off. The manufacturer also includes extra non-slip sticky pads so you can customize the slip protection.
If you shop around you can find this stand in a variety of fun colors.
laptop stand April 28, 2009 David L. Willin (eastern shore of md) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
great product for the price. but be careful when storing this. it bends very easily.
Good enough April 30, 2010 S. Immendorf (Philadelphia, PA United States) I bought this stand solely for home recording purposes. I wasn't expecting to take this to any gigs based of reviews. I thin this is a very good stand for the price. I see some other stands and it's beyond me how the prices hover around the 100 range for a piece of metal that simply raises your laptop.
This is the cheapest stand I could find and I bet its just as good (or bad) as the expensive ones.
The stand does tend to wobble a bit, but it still suitable enough for me.
One of the cross beams threads was pretty messed up, so it made it hard to screw the tightening bolt thingy on all the way. I just placed 2 of the plastic washers that came with the stand to compensate for this and it worked fine.
Also, another thing I should mention is that I thought the stand was going to be black based off the pictures, but I received a white stand instead. It doesn't really matter much to me. It still gets the job done and I can spray paint it if I need too.
Good stand for the price +++
Wrong color, Bad Threading on screws June 7, 2010 J. Stark 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was very pleased with the quality of the product and how well it works for what I was wanting it for. (A stand for my drum machine) However, I was also curious about using it for my laptop stand and must report that it wasn't big enough for a secure stand for a 17" laptop. Also, the display image pictured a black stand and I got a white one. In addition, one of the screws was threaded horribly and required additional washers just to make it work. That being said, however, it is an extremely stable and nice looking stand for a small laptop or for small audio hardware. It was also very easy to put together.
Do not buy, they will send the WRONG COLOR July 21, 2010 Donald (LA CA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
IF I wanted a WHITE ONE I wouldnt have bought from the picture of the BLACK ONE. who wants a white stand for a DJ setup where everything else is silver or black? Just dont buy. The seller knows he's trying to fool everybody into thinking they are all the same color as pictured. And it would be easy to have him specify color upon ordering with links to both colors but instead they fool you into buying and then wanting to return. I'm mad. Im not going to return, Ill probably paint, but thats a dang shame that people try to get over on you like that.
